500th Bull Red - September 26th, 2007

We needed just 9 more Bull Reds to break the 500 mark on our Bull Red Blog Counter and we were hoping that today was the day we would hit the mark.

We have the privilege of taking Clyde Benzenhoefer from Arizona out today for some Bull Red action. Clyde is a good friend of Dewey Jr, so we all headed out to see if we could put him on his biggest Red ever. We arrived to a downpour at the Boat Ramp, but looking on radar, it seemed that if we waited about 30 minutes, we could head out to the Jetty.

Once we made it there, it was pretty constant action throughout the morning. There was one Storm Cell that came through dumping an estimated inch to inch-and-a-half of rain on us, but Dewey Sr stayed pretty dry under the awning. You can see by the picture, he wouldn't make room for me. (laughing)

On the day we caught 17 Bull Reds and lost several more due to some faulty line on one of the reels and an episode of tangled lines when we had a triple going.
