October 11th, 2007 - Arthur Benfield

It was an absolutely beautiful morning. We were able to get out to the jetty right before the sun broke over the horizon. A nice cool morning, a beautiful sunrise, a great cup of coffee ... just what the doctor ordered.

After taking in the Father's Masterpiece, we put some cut shad out on the bottom, facing a strong outgoing tide. It wasn't long before the first rod took off.

Arthur Benfield, a friend of mine from Panama, began this day of fishing by fighting the first Bull Red of the day. On the day we caught 14 Bull Reds and 1 Black Tip Shark all caught on fresh shad and whiting fished on the bottom.

It was a great day to get out on the water.
